How do you know if you have a good song title and the song has good lyrics? Well isn’t that the fifty five thousand dollar question?

Working on this new album in which all the songs are finish (with names I must say) I have not yet come up with a name for the album. So let me go into how I name songs as I write them. Believe it or not, all of the songs I write I first throw a random name on my DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) as a placeholder, a thought, an object just a random name. Sometimes that random name sticks and it becomes the name and the muse for the lyric’s yet to be written. Sometimes I have the lyric’s and one line or word in the lyric’s becomes the songs name and then sometimes it’s just a feel of the song and that becomes the name.

The name for the album on the other hand is a greater bigger picture. It has to encompass the whole album and what it stands for or the vibe and feel of what it needs to convey. Take the first album I put out a few years back, “TEST DRIVE RAW”, as it was my first solo album and published music in a long while, I felt it was a test drive to see where I was at musically and the raw feel of the album fit the way the music was on the album. Raw and basically uncut with minimal production quality, thus Test Drive Raw.

“TEST DRIVE RAW”

The second album, “Eclectic Collaborations” was a collection of music collaborated with other musicians. So I wanted to convey that it didn’t have a common theme and each song had a different feel.

Eclectic Collaborations

The third album was more about experiences in my life thus the album name, “This is My Life” Welcome to it. Many musicians have different ways to come up with names of songs and titles, lyric’s come from many different sources as do names and titles.

“This is My Life – Welcome to it”

To the end of it all within the next few months you will find out what the name of the new album will be named!

It’s the end of the summer of 2020. Besides the frigging Pandemic, I would say it was a very uneventful summer except for the release of my single ”Whatcha Wanna” in which did pretty good on a Spotify and many other of the digital streaming and download sites. I do have to tell you though I do miss the old vinyl and the cover art and stories that went along with the old fashion vinyl record releases. I know that vinyl is making a small comeback to music aficionado’s and purists but it’s not the same. Used to be able to go to Tower Records and wait for the album to come out and grab the first one of the shelf. To hold that album cover, rip off the cellophane and hold that piece of vinyl in you hand -(by the edges) no fingerprints please and place it on my Techniques turntable and crank it up with those 15″ woofers and high end tweeters on a crown amp was magic! Now it’s mostly if not entirely digital. I really think the younger generation is missing out on that experience.

Well the good new’s is that I will definitely have a new album coming out this year and sadly to say no it won’t be on vinyl. The music (12 songs in total) is completely done and I am working on the art work and the stories behind the songs for it’s release – will be released either by late November or early December. I also have 2 video’s already completed in which i’m shooting for another single off of the album to be released before the actual full album is released. A remixed and mastered version of “Whatcha Wanna” will be one of the songs included on the album. I will be posting more about the album, all leading up to the single release and then the album release. So stay with me and help an indie artist get the music out there!

The question that I pose to you, “Did you ever have a love emergency?” Picture this-you just broke up with your significant other (yes, I have to be politically correct-what bullshit) and you feel unloved and you start to go into a depressive state. You think you are going to have a heart attack and you don’t know if you will survive without (Him or Her-LOL). What drugs can you take, your heart is palpitating, you might be ready to die!! Call the nurse, the doctor first-you are diagnosed that you need love urgently. As this is your love emergency.

A straight forward 4 quarter beat – with some nice back ground and chorus vocals. I fore see a great entertaining video to go along with this song., especially the way the lyric’s are written. I recently downloaded the whole new album, “This is My Life” on Soundcloud and some songs from Eclectic Collaborations and Aldo Buzzi “RAW”. Don’t know if you have ever been on Soundcloud? But it is a nice format for exposure.

Come on – Come on–was inspired by Paul McCartney’s Eygpt Station album -I enjoyed the back and forth guitar sounds from one of the title tracks, ” Come on to me”. I think you will hear that in the beginning of my song if you compare the two. Obviously by no way am I comparing myself to such an accomplished and ground breaking artist of one of the founding fathers of the Beatles. Although the influences are there and I would say any inspirations from any artist helps develop more songs and music is a great thing! (I hope Paul would appreciate that point) – The words are an anthem to being yourself and not caring what anyone else (or the Establishment) Thinks – Enjoy, “Come On Come On”

“Another” was written with this neat plugin called Dark Theory. It has some, (I think) Pink Floyd overtones to it, obviously “another” one of my earlier influences. It has a progression that meanders through the atmosphere with some background tones from the Dark Theory. This is a full on instrumental that you need to crank the volume, smoke a joint and be immersed in “Another” time and space continuum.

How many times have you’ve been Crazy in Love? You do stupid things for the one you think you love. You go out on a limb, you fight, curse and make up (yes the make up sex is fantastic!). Listen to you’re heart, but don’t get lost in love and lose yourself when you are, “Crazy in Love”

W’ell as my talking head video explained around a month ago about the song prior to the release of the album,”This is My Life”. You need to play it as loud as your speakers can handle without distorting the sound. You need to play the video in a very dark room on an large High Def screen TV with the music as Fucking loud. You also should be some what buzzed on your drink or drug of choice to revel in the experience of site and sound. You got It?

On a side not -one of my old band mates, Gary Citro (aka Peabody) commented after seeing a preview of the video that it harken’s back to one of the Lampshades original songs called, ” Krakatoa” (east of Java). In which was another hard driving song but had some lyric’s sung by Gary.
