Yup–took about 2 months to come, I purchased a Platform Output studio desk. I really needed the room as my old desk was too small and cluttered all the time. On my old desk, I did not have a slider to hold my keyboard and my roland drum machine and the MASCHINE Mikro. I was always having to stuff around when I wanted to use the keyboard (in which is basically all the time!). I’m still getting used to the set up and it will take me a few more week to set things up the way I will feel comfortable with and everything has it’s place.

Hey Buzzi. . . I like where your head’s at. I used to work from a recording console/desk. You’re absolutely correct, it’s indispensable to the process. Mine had rack spaces which was another great feature as well as raised platforms for monitors. I think you’ll find that as good add-on you’re gonna want the right chair for the task. It’s super-critical as any good studio engineer will testify. And get the plastic floor protector sheets to (any office supply place) so you can move with ease. get isolation pads for your monitors if you don’t already have them. And of course, good semi-closed reference headphones. It’s always nice to tuck your typing keyboard away at the end of work. My keyboards were 88 key monsters so they surrounded my desk and as it turns out I just kept the keyboard and trackpad (I don’t use a mouse) on the desktop because I used it so frequently. Anyway. . . sounds good. Bro. Keep at it.

I think I told you a few years ago about Outputs ‘Arcade’. Collections of sounds, instruments, grooves, etc that can be purchased or you can buy a subscription to DL material. I used it quite a bit when I was recouping after surgery. I only quit because there was a bunch of duplicated sounds and they were a ways off from getting their act together. Back then they started pushing their recording desks. They’ve got some nice ones. mine (not from Output) was a corner unit and was about 8 feet across and weighed 35 tons. LOL. Now, my ‘footprint’ is about 6” x 6” square (if that). I just put my keyboard away because I use an on-screen keyboard or draw in my midi notes. But, I gotta do me. you do you. Remember to get a comfy chair. your music will literally get better.
